WHOOP 4.0 Data Trends After COVID – Return To Cycling Fitness

In this video I look at some of the key recovery data metrics that my WHOOP 4.0 provides me while I work through base training season. I am a competitive cyclist and getting COVID in early December kept me off of the bike and delayed my early season training by a couple months.

Since having recovered from COVID, I’ve been working toward getting back to actual fitness and a healthy respiratory system. This data shows my recent trends since December of 2021. WHOOP 4.0 not only helped me identify that something was wrong, but also allowed me to track progress to understand when my body was fully recovered even when I was under almost no training load.

As always, please consult your doctor regarding your specific situation. I am a relatively healthy cyclist and even I made sure that my return to sport was slow and steady rather than diving in too deep too quickly.

I hope that seeing someone else’s experience with this helps you in your road to recovery as well.

Good stuff. Everyone’s stats are different and personal. I’ve noticed, thanks to the Whoop, my baseline HRV is pretty low. Like 35ms, only occasionally getting above 40ms. Also, perhaps thanks to the Whoop and its insights, I’m as strong and sharp as ever on the bike even if my volume is down.

BTW, going Fiesta Island smashing after the time change?
