Im at a state university rn debating whether or not to go to the dining hall or eat microwave mac n cheese for dinner. I need to use a meal swipe before it expires, but the mac and cheese prob tastes better lol

Even if American school lunches consisted of these items (which they don’t) it looks to me like our kids are getting the short end of the stick🤷🏾‍♀️😡

As a citizen of The Uk can confirm that this is bullshit. Most of our food is pre made and we just buy shit like Radnor fizzes and cakes. Once bought ten bottles of water cause I was bored.

The England school lunch is hilarious- my school makes us pay £2.30 for a hot meal thats probably only half edible xd
Oh yeah £1 for a normal desert like a cake or cookie, or for something REALLY fancy you pay £3 (usually for jelly or banoffee pie, ive had neither)
But if your broke, you go to the cold food area…

As a Guatemalan I have never seen someone who eats beets with tortilla or a beet salad like that HAHAHA. We have beet salads, yeah, but it is called “curtido”, and we don’t eat it with tortilla (?.)

  10. Hisbeautiful Truth on February 27, 2022 at 11:23 pm

    That’s not a typical American school lunch unless it’s a private school/academy.

  11. Tyler June on February 27, 2022 at 11:28 pm

As someone who went to school in the uk, at least in England – the lunches never looked like that.

  12. limeisgood on February 27, 2022 at 11:28 pm

  13. jonathan morris on February 27, 2022 at 11:30 pm

  14. Ac3006 on February 27, 2022 at 11:30 pm

Um the Indian one isn’t completely true.
It would be roti, veggies (sabzee), maybe pickles and raita. Maybe chicken or non vegetarian curries or lentils etc.
Or rice and daal or rice and curries etc.

Being an Indian, I can tell you that: india has diverse culture, so people really don’t one particular dish in tiffin boxes(yes, as you heard, we bring tiffin in school). I don’t live in North, so I don’t know whether children in North take parathas and raita (😂ssly?) in school. Food changes at every state in India 😂, if you are from Punjab, you may get parathas and ‘aachar’, if you are from Maharashtra you may get poha, Shira, upmaa, idli, dosa, missal; if you are from gujrat you may get dhokla; if you are in southern state you may get idli, dosa, upmaa and so on and so forth, you cannot just tell one particular dish that that children are fed but it could be roti-sabji (which is served in Pakistan as per this video😂) that majority of students/office goers get

  31. jiu jai on February 27, 2022 at 11:49 pm

Student in Hong Kong: Most schools order lunches from catering companies that sell to-go boxes of meals you can get in restaurants or they let us go out for an hour to buy lunch ourselves since middle school. So basically we don’t really have school lunch as we either go out for lunch or eat to-go meals

U guys are right about india different people from different regions have their different delicacy.. i used to carry paratha to the school which is flat bread but little fried in oil or ghee then plain flat bread different types of vegetables curry like chick peas kidney beans soybean , any type of seasonal vegetable curries or bhujiya(a type of fried potatoes think of it like french fries) we used to also carry rice and along with same vegetables curries i mentioned.. we don’t bring meat(by meat i mean chicken and mutton coz beef is prohibited in our relegion and pork is considered disgusting or unpure) into the school cause school is considered holy place like temples and u dnt wanna bring non veg to the school and also we have to carry the tiffins in our bag and books are also considered holy so no non veg in the bag. Government has now launched a program called mid day meal which serves meal upto 8th standard i guess if m not wrong but this program is only for govt schools
