  2. Raquel on November 5, 2021 at 2:24 pm

My boyfriend gifted me a pair of doc martens and they are the most versatile shoe ever. They can look girly or androgynous and they make you look taller it’s a win-win-win.

  3. nikkhalia on November 5, 2021 at 2:25 pm

    blonde Laini!

  4. Maria LovesShires on November 5, 2021 at 2:29 pm

I still remember when the "moustache" pattern was a huge trend, does anyone else remember it or it was just a hyper realistic daydream i had 😆

  5. Keshav Rao on November 5, 2021 at 2:29 pm

This is why I dont go for trends, or even worse, fads. I go for classic Men’s wear and also it will never go out of time for 500 more years, if it was more prominent, maybe till the end of the world.

  6. Kate Reid on November 5, 2021 at 2:29 pm

My grandma has been wearing docs for DECADES! She has a whole collection of really fun patterned ones and she wears them like an absolute boss

  10. yo mama on November 5, 2021 at 2:34 pm

Dr Martens are shoes that show up to the party and make everyone happier, once they show up you know you’re gonna be okay and like yeah. Idk they have a good vibe around em

  11. DREA on November 5, 2021 at 2:34 pm

ive had my Doc Martens since 2007, but stopped wearing them when the preps did, haha, maybe now that it’s not ‘trendy’ i can wear them again!

  12. James norris on November 5, 2021 at 2:35 pm

How do you feel about filas? I got them and now everyone says they are ugly n stuff 🙁

  13. StyleNina on November 5, 2021 at 2:35 pm

This was probably the most justifiable click bait I’ve ever seen on any platform. Kudos to you girl, loved it 👏🏾👏🏾💕

  14. Ana 911 on November 5, 2021 at 2:35 pm

As a 25 year old how do I dress “2021”? I really want to know 😊

  15. Severinsen on November 5, 2021 at 2:35 pm

I’m gonna have to disagree with you on the last one.
Maximalist accessories always come and go as a trend, but it’s not a "classic style" fashionably speaking. It’s not comparable to a black turtleneck, the plaid trench coat, a blazer, a "little black dress" etc. as it doesn’t go smoothly with almost everything or at any point in time. That’s what timeless classic pieces are supposed to do.
But of course, what you like and what you want to wear is always subjective.

  16. Chicken on November 5, 2021 at 2:36 pm

    Isn’t this clickbait??

  17. Indie Bear on November 5, 2021 at 2:37 pm

honestly ive been focusing more on wearing clothes that suit me rather than trends. For example I was trying to do the whole big oversized high waisted jeans with a small cropped baby top and it just did NOT suit me. I have very long legs and a shorter torso, high waisted jeans make your torso look shorter and legs longer, crop tops also make your torso look shorter. This look can be very flattering on a lot of people, but on me it looks wrong. I had to admit to myself that high waisted jeans just don’t make me feel good and they dont look good on me despite being trendy especially with my generation. So I started wearing mid rise skinny jeans again and they look so much better, I also don’t wear as many crop tops and rather I wear bodysuits (although some crop tops look fine, the jeans are what make the difference). So mid rise skinny jeans and bodysuits, probably not the most trendy things with my age group but they look the best on me with my tall and thin frame.

thats just one example but yeah, i think its good to focus on what you actually feel best in rather than what looks good on other people.

  18. Maddie F. on November 5, 2021 at 2:38 pm

doc marten’s are my favorite things ever, my mom wore them all the time back in the 90s and they’re still my favorite shoes that I have

  19. Cristina Salvador Varanda on November 5, 2021 at 2:40 pm

Yesterday I saw a tiktok of a girl basing her arguments in "I’m a fashion student I know what I am saying" implying that red lips are no longer a trend and they are cheugy now and I was like it is the epitome of a timeless statement

  20. Monika Mirek on November 5, 2021 at 2:40 pm

Martin’s are actually trending right now, so you won baby

  21. Tove on November 5, 2021 at 2:40 pm

Bruh Doc Martens has been very popular since at least the 90s

  22. chardvnnay on November 5, 2021 at 2:40 pm

I’ve never liked trousers as long as I’ve been alive, and I don’t think they’re cute. Ever. Otherwise I agree with the majority of your opinions!

  23. Gleamingsoul Xox on November 5, 2021 at 2:41 pm

Fashion is what you make it and it’s individual to oneself.

  24. Susan Ma on November 5, 2021 at 2:44 pm

So the actual title of this video is "trends that aren’t trendy bc they are timeless." Cool. I personally don’t follow many fashion accounts on TikTok, the ones I do are for some reason men (e.g. Wisdom Kaye),

  25. Aimee Molina on November 5, 2021 at 2:45 pm

I disagree, sock sneakers are still bomb af

  26. Bread Bread on November 5, 2021 at 2:45 pm

    Spread the word about God

  27. Werewolf Country on November 5, 2021 at 2:46 pm

I had to stop wearing doc martens because they kept breaking on the sole 😐. I have some similar military boots though and I think I’ll always have a pair of black lace boots 😅. You’re right, they’re timeless.

  28. Tamia Edrington on November 5, 2021 at 2:47 pm

Nah docs were even trending before, I was in high school when I got a pair because they were cool and I graduated in 2015 lol

  29. Celeritas2 - on November 5, 2021 at 2:48 pm

When I was at college in early 2000s everyone wore knee length black Kathmandu puffers. I still think they are pretty ugly but I love the two I have in soft metallic gold and silver.

  30. Leah Wielink on November 5, 2021 at 2:49 pm

  34. Iamahuman Hohoho on November 5, 2021 at 2:51 pm

Agree with the trousers one. I wear them since high school about ten years ago and seldom wear jeans, they’re so comfortable. You can pair them with anything on any occasion. That’s why I am happy when they’re back in trend last year with TikTok aesthetic etc because now in my city I can see people wearing trousers anywhere beside workplace.

  35. Fran on November 5, 2021 at 2:52 pm

I own the pascal doc martens which are they are really great for both casual and more formal clothes! I wear them under my "office wear" wide leg trousers for sixth form, or with jeans and whatever. Idk they are just super durable and will last forever! Also I do recommend the pascal ones specifically due to them being soft leather so you don’t have to go through the painful stage of wearing them in (I still have a shoe style pair that I’ve had about 4 years and still haven’t worn them in, if anyone can recommend ways of doing so please share, it would be greatly appreciated because I’m desperate at this point lol)!

  36. Cara on November 5, 2021 at 2:52 pm

  41. DemyFloor on November 5, 2021 at 3:00 pm

I didn’t click on this video for a long time because of the title 😂 but I’m glad it’s just a clickbait title

  42. Symmetrically Identical on November 5, 2021 at 3:05 pm

As long as lm comfortable, the clothing serves a good purpose, and i make it look bomb, I’m still going to wear it asf. There’s a reason why I’m not on tiktok like at all.

  43. Emma Davison on November 5, 2021 at 3:07 pm

  46. Venenum Sumere on November 5, 2021 at 3:18 pm

I really dislike how jeans are trends, like how skinny jeans are over. Not everyone can afford to buy new jeans each season to be in style. Not everyone has the finances to buy new things if a family member of theirs has illness and most of their finances go to food and their medication/pills to keep them alive. Most of this ”YOU WEAR XYZ GASP, CANCELED” is really stupid because it seems only white privliged american girls do it. People seem to encourage thrifting yet on certain videos of some people, people straight out bully them because ”those boots were fashionable 2 years ago, get with the times” and say horrible words and slurs. I didn’t know thrifting is trendy purely because it was all I could afford when I was a child, in fact I was made fun not being able to afford trendy clothes. My country is extremely different from america and it is really poor, which is why in my country I can’t donate or give to a thrift store clothes that are small on me and I have to throw them away. Trends are stupid and they don’t do much but make the fast fashion problem worse for your climate and earth.

People who say the argument that not everyone can afford something seem to be extremely rich and white if they can afford to do 4 times a year 700 dollar Shein hauls. I am not sure if I could be concidered a person of colour but I am not exactly white, but neither dark. I live in Europe but in a poor and corrupted part of it, so we don’t have good economy like let’s say France, England or Germany. The amount of clothes we get from the americans is insane and seems to get bigger each year. Just because someone is poor, doesn’t mean giving them a shitty wish haul, that rips after 2 weeks is good or ”helps the poor”. This is exactly why they are poor, they can’t like most of you afford to buy new jacket or trousers each season. I rarely buy and I calculated where most of my clothes came from and it turns out 82 percent of them are thrifted and 11 are gifted by someone for my birthday or christmas. Hell, I still have shirts from 6th grade and while they are not my style and I dislike them I can’t afford the luxury to get rid of them since they are cotton and I am allergic to most fake fabrics. I recycle my clothes most of the time and add details like patches or saw pearls on, or I just accesorize and layer necklaces.

Can’t understand this american mania of buying new clothes and never outfit who is gonna make fun of you? I honestly think, as far as my humble knowledge as a gen z-er goes, that people are a bit more worried what they are going to eat, if they can afford to pay their bills, if they would catch covid, etc, not what someone is wearing. Trends and beauty standarts are stupid because a lot of people can’t afford to change their look every year. That however doesn’t mean we should make fun of them. If sustainable brands are too overpriced for your wallet my go to is thrifting. You don’t have to buy anything, but do look at the tag, what does the piece contain and if it is cotton or something fake. Most times where I thrift I don’t buy anything unless I really like it and unfortunetly I can’t wait for months to see if I really like or desire the object since where I live our clothing online stores are extremely overpriced and unless you’re an IT specialist, getting this much money for a jacket and sweater is going to be a bit hard, since most jobs still pay severely small wages, compared to the rest of europe since we are poor which is why a lot of westeners come here for the cheap alcohol and pretty nature. If I buy clothes, that means I can wear them.

Not owning a lot of clothes sparks creativity to make new outfits, it doesn’t matter that you own the same blouse if you can get 5 different vibes out of it just by changing the shoes and accesories. I am really worried as a uni student about the state of our planet and how overpoluted our oceans are, I sometimes wonder if our children are going to survive on this planet that we are ruining our selves and really wish people only bought clothes they needed or really really really extremely loved, and not just buy random pieces they thought were cool or trendy or saw someone on instagram wear it. Plus we can always rent outfits for events and not fill our wardrobe with pieces we only wear once or twice a year. I have three dresses in my wardrobe that are official, but I am not invited to weddings or parties, so they just stand in the corner of my wardrobe and only wear through out the summer the four casual dresses I own, a few tanktops, two skirts and two pairs of shorts and just restyle them to always look fresh. Please people, stop buying so much clothes. Most of these fast fashion clothes are done by workers that work in horrible conditions and are not paid, so just stop with these weird hauls yall are doing on tiktok. Sorry for my big essay rant, I know I kinda went all over. Sincerely yours, uni gen z-er.

I was searching for a media console and this popped up…The greatness of Youtube. I thought I would check out what the "youth" of today thought were trendy or not so much …These are LITERALLY all the same things that were trendy when I was young and I’m 41🤣 Fashion & trends just goes in a circular motion. It’s about your personal take, style, and how you individualize each of these pieces/articles of clothing.

  48. Eva Penner on November 5, 2021 at 3:21 pm

I personally don’t feel the need to wear trendy clothing. Bc at one point or another trends usually end up coming back

  49. wait, what? on November 5, 2021 at 3:22 pm

The leather blazer will never go out of style, it’s a classic and timeless
