Fitness Trends for 2019
1. Wearable Technology (2:05): Wearable technology, like smart watches, fitness trackers, heart monitors, and more. The merging of fitness and tech shows no signs of going anywhere, so expect to see even more ways to track and monitor your fitness in 2019.

2. Group Training (3:57): Group training is defined as any workout with more than five participants. It first appeared among its top 20 trends in 2017, and innovation in the industry—like online group workout classes—are keeping it high on the list.

3. HIIT, High-Intensity Interval Training (5:35): HIIT took the top spot in 2018 (and in 2014), but despite its small drop, experts still see it playing a big role in the industry this coming year. A HIIT workout, according to ACSM, involves “short bursts of high-intensity bouts of exercise followed by a short period of rest.” They’re usually 30 minutes or less, though they can be longer. But the main point is to get a quick and very efficient workout. The best part? You can try a HIIT workout right from your living room.

The Momma’s Boys Podcast: Omar Isuf & Mike Farr
The idea is to have authentic, insightful, and usually hilariously inappropriate conversations with friends, content creators, & a variety of interesting guests. Topics with hosts Omar Isuf & Silent Mike (Farr) can range from music and movies, to why crepes are highly overrated. Hey; we never said they were always right.

50% Facts Podcast: Jim McDonald & Mike Farr
Most of us walk around knowing about HALF of what we think we know. On this show, we take a single, granular question on a particular topic (related to health, fitness, nutrition, mental health, sex, etc.) and try to list what we THINK the answer involves. THEN, we bring in a subject-matter expert to tell us what we got right and what we got wrong. We walk away with a better sense of the facts…and so do you. Hosted by Mike Farr and Jim McDonald. What the fuck happened to this channel? Your views tanked. Hard. YouTube is kind of pointless now when it comes to fitness related content.

  18. Fitness With Pat on June 22, 2021 at 8:06 pm

Hey Mike! I just came across your channel and love your content! I’m a PT based in Miami and have always kept my social media content to a bare minimum as I felt I wasn’t ready to share opinions, and pass on my education to a much larger audience. I’m in my 6th year as a trainer and see how it took you a few years to reach that point to share and educate people outside of your gym & clients. Thanks for the vid once again!

Hey Mike possible topic/Question to cover

when i bench press i am trying to keep my back squeezed tight & Lats Activated, By pulling the elbows into my lats slightly and just overall trying to stack joints as much as possible.

however when videotaping myself benching i notice in the Bottom position my elbow and wrist are not directly stacked, my elbows are slightly inside the wrist but when viewing from the side they appear to be slightly infront of the bar
i bench with a moderate grip in relation to my build around pinkie/ring finger

Does it matter a ton if the elbow is slightly inside of the wrist if the elbow is still under & infront of the bar ?

Good to see you back on youtube
Looking forward to future content 🙂

A video on the whole “new year new me” stuff would be dope. Like just an honest discussion on how to make the habits and be realistic with your goals.

  46. Bryan Huarita on June 22, 2021 at 8:38 pm

Where are you getting your information from??? It seems like every article you read is written by empirical trainers that don’t understand the concept of certain training methods. HIIT isn’t a buzz word for it stands for the actual method that you are using within an interval training format, high intensity. HIIT does have many benefits especially in patients with cardiovascular diseases as well as patients with type 2 diabetes, not just for fat burning advantages and muscle maintenance, but like every other program it needs to be progressive in order to get to that point so there is programing involved in using HIIT…please cite the online resources you are referencing, I would love to see where this is nonsense is coming from (btw this isn’t a diss to you it’s a complaint to the authors of these misleading articles). I HAVE to send you some credible articles cause it’s getting scary some of the information that’s being found out there lately.

  47. Crispy C on June 22, 2021 at 8:40 pm

Do people that train on steroids program workouts differently then those that are natural?
