So I do 12/12 intermittent fasting. I get artificial hunger if i eat before 8am and nightmares if I eat after 8pm so I have a tea in the evening. It’s a nice balance and nothing crazy. I have done a water fast. I did not do that loose weight. any cleanse should not be done with the intention to loose weight. most of the weight you loose is from an empty bowel. and now that I know about set weight point i will never do it again. apple cider vinegar is great as an salad dressing with oil. I saw a article saying it helps you digest the oil in the dressing. That doesn’t mean it does something for the fat in your body. So many of these diets take someone who eats unhealthily like pop and fast food and then they do keto or any of the above and it makes a huge difference and they loose a ton of weight. The people I know who were already eating healthy doesn’t work as well. So maybe start eating healthy and not do a fad diet….

I’m sick of 1200 diets on my fyp :’)

  3. A. Wallace on September 15, 2021 at 12:16 am

I fell for the water fast trend. I lasted almost 3 days…I got so sick. I had a terrible migraine for a week after and I got so nauseous and dizzy. I will never do that again.

"Our bodies need and deserve energy" LOVE. Literally almost made me start crying. I’m in eating disorder recovery & your videos are always a nice pick me up when I’m feeling down. 💖

  5. Samantha on September 15, 2021 at 12:20 am

i don’t know if i’m at my set point weight since i lost my hunger and fullness cues so i can’t listen to my body yet. tho i do eat 2500 calories and cut out cardio and just do pilates 5-6x a week and i am maintaining my weight surprisingly since 2500 is a lot and i am only 5’2. since i have a history of anorexia, does that mean i have to overshoot even when i don’t experience extreme hunger (does overshoot only apply when having extreme hunger?)

  8. Baylei Jo on September 15, 2021 at 12:25 am

TikTok can be dangerous if you don’t know where to stay. I follow Brittani Lancaster and Victoria Garrick, and they are amazing about body positivity.

  10. stefan on September 15, 2021 at 12:29 am

my entire fyp is things literally tagged “proana” etc. i know that’s because i interact with it, but regardless it’s scary they would promote such clear pro
    eating disorder tags

  11. Helen Brady on September 15, 2021 at 12:31 am

Great video Colleen! Five years ago I did intermittent fasting (aka skipping meals!) – I did lose weight but I was always hangry and dizzy/lightheaded – don’t know how I did it now! Since then my low blood pressure went even lower and I started to faint (even at work) oh and I put back fair bit of weight I lost anyway. Needless to say I would never do it again.

  12. Amy R on September 15, 2021 at 12:32 am

Thank you so much for your videos. They have really helped me to let go of food rules and just eat when I’m hungry. I had a date day yesterday and enjoyed a donut and ice cream without stress. 😀

  13. Laura Whitney on September 15, 2021 at 12:35 am

It’s so refreshing to see a youtuber talking about dieting trends in a rational way. I get so annoyed with people preaching fasting and the keto diet as if Jesus himself recommend it.

  14. dopamine check on September 15, 2021 at 12:35 am

I love how the way you talk! Its like were friends for a long time HAHAHHAAH

  15. Lauren Migdon on September 15, 2021 at 12:37 am

I recently discovered your channel and I LOVE your content and everything you stand for!!! I want to know if you’ve ever heard of the Food Babe and what your take on her is? I think there is fear mongering from the “healthier” perspective as well that can make us afraid of eating ANYTHING processed or “bad” and I was wondering what your thoughts were on that?

  16. Madeline May on September 15, 2021 at 12:38 am

Apple cider vinegar really does help with weight loss . You don’t even need to try , I made a video about this .

  17. E A on September 15, 2021 at 12:38 am

You eat intuitively yet you’re really skinny. Does eating this way actually makes us skinny because whenever I don’t count calories, I lose 1 kg in a week or so, and I’m already underweight as heck…😭

  18. Caroline Clark on September 15, 2021 at 12:40 am

Your videos give me peace, thank you! It is hard not to be sucked into these trends. I wanted to see if the benefits of apple cider were true. I love how you research and you lay it out there is no evidence for what they’re claiming ❤️

  19. Shanara Begom on September 15, 2021 at 12:41 am

Hey, I was wondering if you have heard of this weight loss program before? It looks like a great program to help people lose weight. This is a very effective and 100% working method to follow. I was just looking for some options before I made my decision. By the way, I love the content you have been posting lately!

  20. magnussenl on September 15, 2021 at 12:41 am

I was also on the intermittent fasting train for probably the last 2.5 years… that time I kept telling myself it was good for me and for giving my body a chance to recover the digestive system. However I also got to enjoy headaches, dizziness, foggy feeling in my brain, extremely low sex drive (huge toll on my relationship!), lost my period completely, irregular bowels, was exhausted constantly, irritable, guilty after eating…and the list goes on. SO THANKFUL that I randomly stumbled across Colleen’s 5 day food freedom challenge. The last 2-3 months have had lots of ups and downs but I am so much happier now! Not to mention I got my period back (huge for me..I even had an MRI done to make sure there wasn’t something wrong neurologically that caused me to lose it) ! THANK YOU COLLEEN!

ACV and other vinegar raise your histamine levels. High histamine can do some really bad things to your body – THUS the rise of good anti-histamine medications!

I don’t know how these folks do it. I feel so bad for them. My mental health is shit but I am grateful my mind wants me to be a healthy weight.

I was told by family that apple cider vinegar was great for heartburn/IBS, it made me throw up. My weight varies depending upon my IBS, I can go through a period of time where my meds are working and I’m sitting now at 135lbs at 5’6" and I feel fine. But then the IBS decides, no more niceness you will now lose 30 pounds for no reason. I went on a low FODMAP diet for 2 weeks and slowly reintroduced what I ate before. It took me 6 months to regain the weight I lost. Like sure I could wear a size 2 again, but not being able to stomach even toast… No.

And now with the pandemic, I’m so stressed out (I’m an essential worker) I’m having issues with my bowels going, you don’t actually need to digest food or I just throw up my dinner. Doesn’t matter what I eat, I’ve been on a bland food diet for the better part of two weeks and I’m still not recovering. My gastro did nothing but prescribe anti-anxiety meds. -_- I’m looking for a new gastro.

  25. Ryan Tullock on September 15, 2021 at 12:52 am

I don’t know how or why it "worked" (I’m even convinced it could have been a placebo effect), but my grandfather and his three-years-younger uncle drank apple cider vinegar, honey, and warm water EVERY MORNING (gag) for like 20 years. Something to do with managing their triglycerides. I just think, like you, they didn’t want to eat anything for hours after drinking the nasty stuff 😂 I know I’m not doing it!

  26. Samantha on September 15, 2021 at 12:54 am

when i had anorexia, i used apple cider to suppress my appetite and eventually i just never got hungry anymore instead of being hangry. ik u mentioned extreme hunger after anorexia and you said that absence of hunger cues are normal too. i lost all my hunger cues, does this mean i will not experience extreme hunger or will extreme hunger set in when my hunger cues return???

  27. Mark Long on September 15, 2021 at 12:56 am

I did intermittent fasting for about 8 months, and I’m so much happier with breakfast at a slightly higher (and not clinically underweight!) weight

  28. Cristen Faulkenberry on September 15, 2021 at 1:00 am

1 – You’ve given me another reason to NOT get a TikTok account.
2 – The appetite suppressant reminds me that Beachbody recently released something called Bevvy…. an appetite suppressant that costs about $50 bucks for like 15-20 sticks? Idk all the details there but I’ve seen it mentioned in a few other videos I’ve watched and it just makes me cringe!!
3 – I am so grateful I’m across your videos and now follow you on Insta because breaking food rules has made me so much happier and confident from day to day. I’m way less stressed about what to eat to ‘lost weight’ and am concentrating on what to eat because it’s sounds good! Gonna finish my spaghetti meat sauce with cauliflower rice and vegan cheese (I like the cauliflower rice better than the noodles and vegan cheese bc I’m allergic to dairy), finish my glass of sangria, and then probs eat some dairy free ice cream 🙂 Yum! And, no guilt for any of those choices – and that’s the best!!

  29. em thrives on September 15, 2021 at 1:02 am

I have never had a TikTok account. I cannot believe people actually use it for diet/weight loss 🙁
    Like seriously people?!?

  30. Suzette H on September 15, 2021 at 1:03 am

I’m new to your channel. I like your common sense . I still like intermitten fasting. It helps me not eat at night as social eating. I don’t like diets either because it needs to be a life behavior. I will look into your book suggestions.

  31. Christelle on September 15, 2021 at 1:05 am

Im so tired of seeing intermittent fasting ads 🤮

  32. janine langegger on September 15, 2021 at 1:05 am

I had to delete my tiktok it became so toxic to me and my eating disorder recovery
