Hi Skyler! I’m having a hard time finding good dog food that is low carb (no potatoes and unnecessary crap you wouldn’t recommend) and no poultry for my sensitive Australian Shepherd that is 10 years young. I have a friend that can help me get discounts at petsmart so it would be great to utilize that. Simply nourish, the natural pet and authority are the main foods she gets discounts on but I’m open to other options as I really want to up his nutrition and I just realized the food ive been feeding him snuck chicken into the ingredients recently and I didn’t notice because I was feeding him the same food that didn’t have it in it. Odd right? Please help!

can you make a video more in depth about the essence cat food? im a vet tech and the drs been shoving the "grain free is the leading cause to heart disease" down everyones throat. i would like to switch my two kittens (5month old + ~2month old) to essence because i watched your video on recommended foods and love love love the first 8 ingredients being meat. but again the doctors always giving a say. i have them on science diet and give them supplements (solid gold sea meal, solid gold urinary health, + vetflix probiotics) mixed with shredded chicken. are the probiotics good? i want the absolute best for them so id like to switch to essence and add in bone broth with their probiotics if you think they are good. or do you have probiotic suggestions?

Hello, I have a German Shepherd 1.5 year old that has had many stomach issues. He had a surgery to resolve this problem and even though that part is fine he still has some issues. He has acid reflux and diarrhea most of the time. He is being treated by his vet, but they recommended me to feed him Hill Science Sensitive Stomach and Skin. But I felt that he was still not doing as well as we would want him to so I started to do some research and found your channel. I was watching the video on your review on dog foods and learned that Hill Science Diet is not good at all. I will be trying out Nutri Source for him, I also make him homemade food to fill him up because he lost so much weight during his illness. I do a recipe that was recommended with good ingredients. Do you have any recommendations for us based on his stomach issues? Thank you in advance.

I am getting a rat terrier puppy. Breeder just transitioned her from the mother to Purina Puppy chow. She now has a small rash on her forehead. I think it is from the food. I want to transition her to this food. Can you do a deep dive into this food? It looks like the only grain is rice, which normally doesn’t cause an allergic reaction. The food is Diamond Naturals Small Breed Puppy Chicken and Rice Formula Dry Dog Food. Love the videos. Thanks for your efforts.

  25. Jordan on November 28, 2021 at 5:23 pm

DCM is NOT correlated to a taurine deficiency! If you were an actual nutritionist, you’d know that. If you go and read the 78 page FDA study you’ll see that more than 85% of those dogs taurine levels were normal, completely normal. AND they ate a grain free diet. You should also know that it’s not the peas and legumes they’re saying is the cause, it’s the formulation. For example Orijen *looks* like a great food because it’s made to look like such. Although the first X amount of ingredients look great, when cooked it weighs significantly less, putting it lower on the ingredient list. Which In turn means that the peas and legumes and the main source of proteins, not the meat listed.
To everyone watching and taking advice from this “nutritionalist” I highly recommend speaking with your veterinarian. She is spreading misinformation. And although your dog may seem perfectly fine. Heart conditions are a silent killer and you most likely won’t know till they pass. If you’ve been feeding BEG diets, I recommend getting an echo done on your pup. 🐶💕

I would love a deep dive of all the types of dog food Rachel Ray’s brand has compared to each other. I see very varying scores on them compared to each other in just her brand

The grain inclusive Vs grain-free food debate is overwhelming 🥴 my dog loves grains so we’ll stick to giving him a food w/ it. A while back we switched him to a high protein low carb food and he got so skinny. I think he needed more carbs & fats. We put him back on BullyMax and he instantly started bulking back up in a good way. We’re about to switch him to Healthy Kitchen soon bc I heard it’s better quality.

  29. Tabitha Kim on November 28, 2021 at 5:26 pm

So are you actually a veterinary nutritionist? Or a certified trainer who tags a “pet nutritionist” label on? Please be careful giving out this kind of information. Although your intentions may be good, you are in dangerous territory and could be putting people’s pets at harm. If you are not a veterinarian, your knowledge of pet physiology is certainly limited, and you should not be “educating” people on topics that you do not have a thorough knowledge of (beyond what anybody could get by taking an online pet nutrition course).

  30. Hadar Amit on November 28, 2021 at 5:26 pm

Are you a Veterinarian that specialized in nutrition? To my knowledge that is the education needed to become an animal nutritionist.
If you’re not a vet specializing in nutrition what is your education in the field?

Have a 88lbs standard goldendoodle 9 years old. Not chubby not skinny and does about an hour of walking a day. He is been eating caidane kibble salmon and rice but in the past two months everytine he eats the kibble he gets diarrhea😞. So i put him on bland diet for about 5 days and he gets good but then he gets diarreha when eating kibble again. So iam thinking is the food. I think he also has some allergies cause he rubs his face with paws and also rubs face and body against couch and wall and rolls on ground like if he is scratching or something. Anyways debating between nutrisource, wellness or earth wild food for him. He is also been eating kibble with grains…don’t know if I should give him grain free do to all the articles I been reading about grain free causing heart conditions?? Today I will be taking my dog to the vet so they can check diarrhea and also do allergy test even though they are not accurate

I went to global pet foods and they were out of Carna4 for cats and only had the small size 😭😭😭 I’m in Canada, I feed my cat orijen, after watching your video I’m jumping on the Carna4 wagon, I researched em and I like em so thank you, only thing is I buy the biggest bag from orijen for cats I can’t get that for Carna4 yet but I’ll find a way, thank you though. I feed my cat regional red (least liked), then tundra ( he digged) and when I just put 6 fish flavour in with the tundra flavor he jumped on it, I believe I buy the 12 pound bag

I love your videos/reviews… I have a GSD(male, 12 months) and i give him for one week the farmina grain free pumpkin, lamb & blueberry puppy maxi…He has a few stools, but they ‘re soft. I know that normal for new food. In how many days you believe poop will be normal? Also what you believe about this food, is it ok for a GSD? Keep up the good work!!!!!

  47. Labtyd3 on November 28, 2021 at 5:42 pm

I had been feeding Solid Gold for years. Then the pea, lintels etc… issue came on the scene. Solid Gold’s 3rd, 4th and 5th ingredients are peas, lentils and pea proteins! I have a dog with DCM and a dog who’s level 3 heart murmur is now a bad level 5. I switched to Canidae for less active dogs a few months ago. I have mostly senior dogs and they need a low protein and fat dog food. They liked the Solid Gold better than the Canidae. But I should be feeding mostly canned dog food? Which brands would you recommend… thank for any information.

My GSD is an extremely picky eater (dude wants filets), for whatever reason he won’t touch the grain free foods
