    No need to punish yourself with the keto diet. It’s just a matter of calories in, calories out. Following a structured and diverse diet like the *Agoge diet* helps a great deal though.

    I struggled with the keto diet too much, I just felt exhausted. We are supposed to enjoy the food we eat and with keto that’s close to impossible. That’s why I tried the Agoge diet and it works great.

    My experience suggests that the keto diet is over-hyped. A good diet ougt to be easy to follow and be healthy. Agoge diet is a great option, I lost a lot of stubborn belly fat.

    Sounds like she was doing a very unhealthy keto. Keto should be filled with leafy greens and cruciferous vegetables. I bet she was eating vegetable oils too. 🙄

    People always talk about getting a six pack, I just wanted a flat belly. But the keto diet was unbearable for me. I tried the Agoge diet and so far have amazing results. Highly recommended!

    I wanted to like the keto diet but it was just impossible, I felt horrible. Then I saw a review about the *Agoge diet* and I tried it and it was awesome.

    Actually Katie asked some good basic questions, surprised. I do intermittent fasting, but not full Keto , lower carbs overall , some days better than others.

    Not true about IF. I managed to gain weight in a 18 / 6 schedule by eating a lot of carbs during the window. Lesson? IF + keto is the winning combination

    To all ignorance that keto and 16 hours per day fasting is not healthy are quite likely morbidly over weight and are sugar and wheat bread addicts and are the ones that have 5 cases of coke or mountain dew in grocery karts every time they go " food" shopping

    any IF schedule is helpful. People should not eat whatever they want. The goals of fasting is to clean the body, so what the point to fasting and eating junk the same time. Does not make sense. But anyway eating junk for 8 hours and cleaning 16 hours for the body to have room for new junk coming in still better than exploding the body with continuous junk intake

    When this man said it’s like garbage being taken out I just started this week and I lost 16 lbs. in 4 days. It scared the hell out of my husband and I. Because t was quick. I will be sticking to this diet for two months.

    If you want to lose fat, I recommend trying the Agoge diet. I lost lots of fat and felt great all the way.

    I wonder if anyone ever mentions how you can’t generalize nutrition. Some people will have more success with fat in their diet than others. Those with the APOE4 gene variant can’t tolerate fat in their diets the way those with APOE3 gene variants who can eat moderate amounts of fat and those with APOE2 gene variants can eat a lot more fat without any issues? Those with APOE4 tend to have higher cholesterol and later on in life are more at risk for Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. People with type 1 diabetes, for example, can’t thrive on a high carb diet such as mostly fruits because it spikes their blood sugar they would need to take an insane amount of insulin to counteract the constant hyperglycemia. A type 1 diabetic can’t survive on a no carb diet either because they need to eat carbs when they’re experiencing a hypoglycemia to raise their blood sugar. I never hear anyone mention variables like these.

    I gotta say, in a world full of fads, trends, fad diets — the word fad might’ve been mainstreamed to describe diet crazes — intermittent fasting works for weight loss. It’s not for everybody, but if you can do it, you’ll feel like you have a superpower that no one else has, a gear, and when the weight comes off, it just boosts your confidence. What Katie misses here and what Dr. Hyman didn’t have a chance to mention is that when you are IF’ing, you start to think a lot more about the food choices you do make, so it’s not like you’re just shoving down pizza and Chinese food in that window — you’re much more cognizant and thoughtful about what you’re eating. If you can combine an semblance of keto + IF’ing, maybe some exercise, you’re gonna drop weight even quicker. One hack I’d contribute is to of course, stay hydrated, but add carbonated or naturally flavored water to your diet as well. I’d break my fast with a carbonated water and food and I was full quicker and also ate less — I didn’t binge. It takes some adjusting, and it can be a little rough, but if you can pull it off, you’ve got a tool to that will have all kinds of benefits for you in the long run.

    All the plant based diet doctors would disagree with keto. Whole foods plant based diet is what I believe to be healthiest even keto style.

    I’ve said this so many times, infact I’ve had to explain it to a hand full of doctors, but to make a long story short we started Keto after being Vegan for 6 years… The main reason why we changed over was the health benefits. I had a heart attack at year 6 of a vegan diet, and I was able to cure my heart and vessels, and arteries changing over to the keto diet.
