My favorite WTF episode 😂
my mom had an ab roller lolol and slim fast.. those were the days, pre social media
You are hilarious! Love the fun element in your videos😂😂😂
I hate how crossfit continues to say it incorporates gymnastics. Start doing backflips on a balance beam and you can call it that, otherwise you’re just using rings for your calisthenics.
Also, the fittest on earth shouldn’t need to cheat reps.
P90x and Zumba were both effective because people enjoyed doing those workouts which ended up with them burning extra calories. Did anyone hear Norton make an argument against them or did he just simply ridicule them because he personally didn’t like them?
The best way to incorporate dance into any lifting routine is to crank up some Napalm Death or Sepultura and solo mosh before attempting a deadlift PR
Kinda want one of those Jane Fonda hoodies
Can’t believe they left out Richard Simmons and Billy Blanks
I disagree swamp thing was pretty lean even during off season!
Please do a video on pure barre!
CrossFit was great in the beginning when trainers were trained properly, it all went to sh!t when they started dishing out training certificates like they were complimentary peanuts a local bar.
You are right on the timeline, think I started CrossFit in 2003/4, when it got to South Africa.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 had to watch that last part like four times
Layne, would be great to see you do a video on Greg Glassman and / or CrossFit???
It’s just like with diets: adherence is king (for those who just want to stay fit/healthy).
You don’t meed an optimal protocol to get healthy. Not that many people enjoy working out on their own in my experience, hence the popularity of team sports, group exercises, dance routines etc. As long as they don’t claim it’ll make you look like an ifbb pro, more power to them. Better than most gym staff who’ll have old ladies do bicep curls and chest flies.
Hey Layne – can you make a video on Paul Saladino’s claim that linoleic acid makes you fat?

I love the ab roller, honestly. . .
NASM actually promotes vibration trainers in their most recent addition. That was when I knew I just wasted my money on that stupid course. By working out on a vibrating platform it’s supposed to create a different stimulus that is better. seemed stupid enough to me to skip over
Layne, If you’re looking for inspiration for more What The Fitness content. Then look no further than "2 Fit Docs". There’s a treasure trove of content on the channel to feature on What The Fitness.
"Australia of all places" what are ya trying to say!!
Lmao the intro and outro music 👌🏼👌🏼
https://youtu.be/86nuO4qSo2E thoughts ?
Dude.. You forgot..
Total Gym
Ab-Glider
Soloflex
Bowflex
Bullworker
Body Step
Stair Climber
Susan Powter Stop the Madness
Sweating to the oldies RichardSimmon
Fat-Free craze
The end was by far the best
Now that was some entertaining shit! Where was the Ab Crunch, haha.
You should still try to do a debate with Jason even though he is still a douche bag
I took a bootcamp class one time maybe 10 years ago. When the instructor broke out the hula hoop I was gone.
Standing in the video. I like that. Way too many fitness enthusiast sit down it’s just not normal to me
Hey Layne, wondering if you could do a video comparing the health benefits of cardio vs. resistance training one day. Not saying anyone should do only one of the two but more what you should prioritize if you need to do so. Appreciate your work.
Layne, what are your thoughts on the validity of Jose Antonio’s protein overfeeding studies in regards to their applicability to bulking?
Their discussions speculate that gluconeogenesis only occurs if there is a need for glucose (via glucagon signaling). Therefore, excess calories from protein in a cut will still count towards energy balance, but excess energy from protein in a bulk isn’t utilized. This would allow people to more easily match their effective energy intake during a bulk to their potentially variable TDEE; days where they have a higher TDEE there would be more gluconeogenesis and days where they have a lower TDEE there is less gluconeogenesis, leading to minimized fat gain during a bulk.
Yeah but that vibrating belt looks like it would feel great on your back
Lol @ incorporating dance with lifting weights
Where’s TaeBo?
Very funny
Damn! when I was a kid my grandmother had one of those vibrating belt things in her basement. I never knew what the hell it was till now thank you biolayne!
I am so old hahaha i remember all those……i did P90X3 at 45y old for 3 months after that i was wasted and had knee pain, lots of twisting etc…
You don’t know Euro training he us dancing and lifting weights.
That Russell’s teapot reference. I approve!
What about "insanity" and Sean T?
Vibration device is still being sold, by the way ! 😜 Look -> https://powerfitelite.com/
Layne Norton’s mind ‘Every diet is a fad. There is no diet humans evolved to eat. I don’t care how our ancestors ate even though that literally is the best indicator of what I should be eating, and though I know with 100% certainty that they didn’t have what we have today, elimination diets are stupid. All that matters are calories. Macros mean nothing except for protein. There’s nothing special about fasting even though “studies show” that it conserves muscle way better and doesn’t make your metabolism slower. I refuse to run an n=1 experiment becaue I’m scared it will make my little rigid theory fall apart.’
Bombshell definitely recommends waist trainers, I use to be apart of their team
Here because of Greg Doucette. If the doc thinks this guy is legit then here we go.
ab roller, p90x. god what a time to watch tv and get blasted by this stuff
P90X was actually my first REAL exposure to hard workouts, I just messed around with calisthenics and machines before that. There’s a lot wrong with its programming for muscle but I sure did lose fat!
Spot reduction🤦♀️ Can we say a prayer for the women who won’t lift for fear of getting bulky but will do sit-ups to shrink their waists.
I knew he was gonna’ throw some dancing in there 😂💪
4:30 – “Before becoming an actress…” Jane Fonda had already won two Oscars as Actress in a Leading Role (Klute, 1972 and Coming Home, 1979) before the home video gig. Back in the day you had to do things to become famous and get endorsement deals.
I’m surprised Tai Bo wasn’t in there, that was fun! Gyms in my town still offer Zumba classes. I tried it via a friend’s DVD, I am way too unco for that!
Could you put together a group fitness class, based on a bodybuilding posing routine? Could be a fun way for 1st time competitors to practice posing & get some cardio in between.
I remember working out at Carlos Rodriquez’s Sportsworld Fitness Center in Tucson, Arizona back in 1988. He was a bodybuilder and winner of the 1978 Mr. Universe. There was a warehouse next door. I remember looking inside and seeing hundreds of those fat vibrating machines. I wonder what the story was behind it?
What, no Sweating to the Oldies?
