Do These Health Trends Actually Work? (MY TOP 5 FAVORITES!)

The most common question I get asked all the time is out of everything I’ve tried so far, what do I still do now? What actually works and what have I kept up with?

It’s a great question because there are so many health and wellness trends out there and it can be really confusing to figure out what is worth a try and what’s not. Part of my job here on my channel Sky Life is to try them for you, breakdown some of the science and research behind them, and document my honest experience testing them out so you can make better-informed decisions about how to live a healthy life.

I am happy to say that out of everything I’ve tried, most trends and tools have worked and are useful for different circumstances. However, there are a few that I love and still use and have implemented into my life long term! In this video, I am going to share my top 5 health trends that I believe actually work (or have worked for me) and that I still do consistently.

    I recommend that everyone try the Low FOD-MAP lifestyle. I struggled for years with digestive issues, both with healthy and unhealthy eating, and last year learned about FOD-MAP and implemented it at the beginning of this year. It really helped me learn what foods I’m sensitive to and in what ways so I can make even more mindful choices of what my body needs.

    So funny I totally agree with all of these and discovered them all this year going through my divorce. Intermitten fasting is awesome, I do cold showers every day, and I LOVE cryo therapy! I need to work on the technology/dopamine fasts though for sure. Meditation and Yoga make me feel alive. I haven’t tried cacao though, I’ll definitely check it out!

    I’m a critical prick, and I read so much bull shit methods and research them for my own fun. I’ve looked in to most methods described here and can confirm that most of them are decent.
    1) intermittent fasting; this is indeed something real, have looked into this a lot and it seems like it works decently. I do not think that you need to be strict about your hours, just skipping snacks(or anything to eat) and heavy drinks after dinner will already help you.

    2) celery juice; ofcourse its fuking healthy, its celery juice. But you dont need to make i a daily habit in order to be healthy, if you are disgusted by it, there are tons of otherways to get those nutrition into your body, eventho a celery shake will get you a lot in a short time

    3) Wim Hof Method; As a Dutch guy i can’t hate Wim, and his method is legit. I mostly don’t do any of these methods/diets, just living normal and decently healthy is good enough for me. But I did wim hofs breathing technique a couple years ago just out of curiosity. It was fun and it helped me personally to get my sleep pattern in order. I also did the cold therapy for a while, it works, just a tad bit harder to continue.

    4) digital detox; never heard of it so I had to look into this… thanks for wasting my time :). But it seems like a psychological thing, I am not that bounded to my phone, more my laptop. I can see why this works for some people, but when i go camping or something i do not get the feeling they describe, maybe im not enough on the internet in order to detox…

    5) Raw cacao, superfoods in general are bullshit, they are just regular healthy foods, no need to label them superfoods in order to get the price they cost higher. Seems more like she put this in the list to cliffhang her next video. cacao is again full of nutrition, which are more potent in its raw form. But no need to make a whole diet out of it, I’m also pretty sure that too much cacao will do bad things to you, so if you do this, do it in moderation.

    Keep in mind you don’t need to do any of these methods to be very healthy. Just knowing what your intakes are will help you become more aware and being more aware helps you change, thus become healthier. If you find one that helps you personally i can only support you in doing that. Just try for yourself to research in scientific articles on how far you can take those methods. and not all scientific researches are true! the only positive thing is that you can then check the method they have used.

    I’m doing intermittend fasting now for 6 weeks and I’m feeling great‼️ I had gutproblems and they are gone now. And combined with my diet I am losing weight fast! Right now I am trying the cold showers.

    Will you try a food sensitivity test like Everly Well and then try to eat based on its results? I’m interested to see how accurate they are and if they can reduce indigestion, etc.
