Me and my sister signed up for a personal trainer and that was the biggest mistake. So I went to LA fitness to cancel it. They told me if I cancel and all, I will have to pay up to 3,195 dollars, and the other person told me I would have to pay 4,995 dollars. LA fitness told me the same exact thing it’s not a contract. When I looked at the document, it said “contract” LA fitness had mislead me. And I wanted my money back they told me I can’t get my money back. Me and my sister was definitely fooled, and we took it out of our college funds to pay for the personal trainer. Smh 🤦🏾‍♀️ HUGE MISTAKE. I’m definitely going to attend another gym, and start reading things carefully before I sign anything. And I’m still locked into the contract at LA fitness. Most of the times, the personal trainer wouldn’t show up. And I will always try to text and call the trainer, and no response whatsoever. And LA fitness would constantly harass me to pay 396 dollars, and I had to go to my bank to change my card, if I didn’t, they will take the money out of my card. And plus they trash talk about their customers and all.

Yes this happened to me and my sis too. Last year we did a personal trainer, and the front desk told me and my sis that it’s not a contract. So we was like ok, we did the personal trainer like for a month and I told my neighbor that we have a personal trainer she told me to stop with that trainer, because we don’t have that type of money. So my neighbor told my sis to go back to the gym and canceled that personal trainer, so my sis tried to talk to the people at the front desk right? Told her that if she cancelled it she would have to pay 4,500 dollars out of her pocket, and my sis was telling me the whole story on the phone crying to me. I told her what did they tell you? They told her that she cannot received her refund back, then the front desk people was talking bad about us saying that we are up their in are brains and all. Also another thing they kept calling my sister like crazy for her to give them money. The people got mad because my sisters card was declined, and it was a good thing that she changed it, because if she didn’t they wouldn’t had toked money from her still, this is why we need to be very careful on what we are sign in at all times. They don’t care about the people that comes to the gym they only care about your money that’s all, and last week the front desk people had called my sis saying to her that we need to come back to gym for the personal trainer and told my sis that we can pay bills and all this other stuff, they only gonna tell us that because they only want money from us that’s all. Just do your own workouts at home never get yourself with those personal trainers because it’s not worth it. Always read your stuff at all times, it’s like for a job and a apartment never signed stuff without understanding it, trust me you got a lot of people that would take advantage of other people. Don’t talk your business to people especially when it comes to money. Just out their to robbed you that’s it.

I wanted to cancel my personal trainer contract but I’m stuck with it for a year which is my fault I don’t do well under pressure lol the guy who signed me up said I could cancel it in 6 months and la fitness would pay for the rest I told this to the director of personal trainers or whatever the fuck he was but he told me "he no longer works here" what’s the deal with that that seems to happen a lot like the employees disappear as soon as you sign the contract felt like I sold my soul to the devil.

It’s because the company pushes people hard, but those bad ethics are not what the company teaches.

  15. gabe hosier on October 12, 2021 at 11:02 am

Fitness America did shady shit years ago., they power sold sign ups contracts, knowing they werre going out of business, i signed up years ago, after a month or 2 the building is empty..out of busines on windows, they fought to hold people to those contracts., i know i was 1 of them people, threating calls from lawyers, collection agencys to bad credit report

  16. Zach Snyder on October 12, 2021 at 11:03 am

I’ve worked at a gym and sometimes sales people are very misleading but in their defense people who sign up forget everything the sales person says as soon as they leave the gym. They then come back and complain that they were not told about these things when they definitely were.

  17. Bradley Harley on October 12, 2021 at 11:03 am

I’ve worked for LA fitness, we do the best we can to be transparent. If you don’t review the contract that’s your fault ..

I told my mom that LA fitness ripped me off…she looked at my stomach and said "Ya…I see that!"

  21. Ever Ponce on October 12, 2021 at 11:06 am

The memberships are non-contractual. The training packages however may be. This report is based on two completely different agreements made with La Fitness. This isn’t good reporting, all details were not gathered.

  22. D on October 12, 2021 at 11:07 am

It makes me wonder if the employees are not telling them about the contract because they have to hit certain numbers but I personally work at LA Fitness and before that I had a membership and there are no contracts so I’m a little confused

  23. JUN on October 12, 2021 at 11:10 am

LA fitness charged me extra few hundred dollars with no explanation when I signed. I didn’t get any contract papers at all.

  24. Nohmad Baker on October 12, 2021 at 11:10 am

    They are scammers

  25. Isaac Yun on October 12, 2021 at 11:12 am

I was a director of Personal Training. They only have 6 Months or 12 months training. They will lie and do everything to get you started today. La fitness has no month to month. This is why I quit. La fitness corporation has no soulf

  26. Jonathan Allen on October 12, 2021 at 11:14 am

Word of advice: just sign up for a basic, monthly, multi-club membership (multi-club meaning you can work out at any LA Fitness (or Planet Fitness) whether in your area or abroad). That’s what I did.

  27. Adam Fishermen on October 12, 2021 at 11:14 am

Kentucky location is also a mega scam as well

  28. Hawraz Jalal on October 12, 2021 at 11:16 am

Change your card number and they can not charge you also after 30 days the contract will be expired and not damaging your credit because you didn’t provide your social security and always pay with the gift card.

  29. Mike Bradley on October 12, 2021 at 11:17 am

Well, aint that a shocker….. Nope!!! I just seen another video about LA Fitness racially discriminating against some customers and even against one of their own employees. Good thing there’s many other gyms to choose from better than this.

  30. truechampoftrance on October 12, 2021 at 11:21 am

Corona Virus, They are not letting us cancel our memberships over the phone! they closed the clubs! They are scamming everyone! Do NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM! THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY!

  32. Grand Imperius on October 12, 2021 at 11:24 am

gym membership sales are basically a used car lot. filled with sharks and all had criminal records from the past. my time at ballys total fitness was dictated by corruption and greed. makes sense why they went out of business.

  40. Thomas MacGruber on October 12, 2021 at 11:37 am

Made this mistake, finished my 60mo pt contract, which turned out to be 260 a month. Now I can’t cancel unless I mail a letter to the main office. I moved, had no access to a printer and emailed and called them 7x to cancel and they still took money out 2 months after the contract was over. It’s a scam. This gym is a rip off and they are filled with idiots. My PT was a 22 year old kid who could care less about me. I have a bad hip and need a hip replacement and he had me doing squats and leg things that made me hate every second of life. Not to mention it hurt and I could barely walk after. It was abuse.

  41. Meerim Hamacher on October 12, 2021 at 11:40 am

LA FITNESS FRAUDULENT CHARGES AFTER MEMBERSHIP CANCELATION FOR 21 MONTH!!!!
I’M JUST WARNING PEOPLE SO THEY WON’T END UP IN MY SITUATION.
We lived in Orlando Florida for 4 years, while my husband attended the University of Central Florida medical school. We became members of LA Fitness and also got a personal trainers sessions. We had no issues at all while we were members, we were happy with our membership. My husband finished Med school and we had to move to another state for his residency program. We were in the military for more than 20 years, so we are very familiar with moving. We moved no less than 6 times in the previous 12 years, so we know the drill: start canceling services and memberships when the move approaches. We canceled everything in Orlando: utilities, local memberships, etc – including LA Fitness. In fact, I had to cancel LA fitness even earlier so we could start house-hunting and start packing, since we were very busy during that time and unable to go to the gym. So I called LA Fitness to cancel my membership and they told me that I needed to be present at their office to sign the documents before I could officially cancel the membership. I went to LA Fitness and I signed all the necessary paperwork to cancel my membership on December 26, 2017.
We moved to different state and I didn’t check my credit card statement at all. My husband only recently discovered the continued charges from LA Fitness. They apparently never stopped billing us this entire time. I was billed $90.50 every month. The total of my charges was $1900.50. They charged me for 21 months of membership fees.
As soon as we discovered this, I called them immediately and asked them to give me a refund. LA Fitness customer support told me that I never canceled my membership and therefor they wouldn’t give me my money back. This is fraudulent. They said that I needed to find that cancellation contract to prove it to them. I never assumed this would be a problem; in all the moves we’ve ever had, nothing like this has ever happened. I don’t know where that document is, but there is no doubt that the membership was cancelled exactly as they requested. Moving all over the world, serving in Air force for more than 2 decades, we not one forget to cancel a single membership or any other monthly service. If LA Fitness refunds our money, we will consider the matter complete. If they do not, we will file lawsuits against LA fitness for fraudulent charges after cancelled memberships.

  47. Jazmin Chew on October 12, 2021 at 11:45 am

LA Fitness now ESPORTA lies all the time, I got told by the trainers lead that if I signed the contract for one class a week for a year at least he was gonna give me one extra class per week during all that year plus 2 extra classes at the beginning, first 2 times he never came and make me wait for him , didn’t even respond to phone calls or anything, always saying later on he was busy, but the gym was not busy to charge me on time and it’s not the first time i get lie at the gym with many different things , but if you get tired of the gyms lies and want to cancel the gym easily says ok just pay $50% of the rest of the months you won’t come , so the gym just lies to you and never help you with anything

  48. Slow Heat on October 12, 2021 at 11:45 am

    Never sign without reading.

  49. carbonsilkthread on October 12, 2021 at 11:46 am
